United Nations Honors Professor Rasha Abdulla at the Internet Governance Forum
Rasha Abdulla, professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, was honored by the United Nations at the recent Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in Paris. Abdulla has been a member of the IGF Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) for three years; The MAG is a group of Internet experts appointed by the UN Secretary General to organize the IGF, the biggest annual meeting of Internet-related issues worldwide.
Naila Hamdy Speaks at United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Global Forum
Naila Hamdy, associate professor of journalism, was invited to speak at the 8th United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Global Forum during a session addressing “Digital Diplomacy: Online Citizen Engagement and Social Media Platforms as Mechanisms for Prevention and Countering Online Hate Speech”. The conference was held at the UN headquarters on November 19 - 20, 2018.

The Annual Awards Dinner to Celebrate 26 MA Class and Recognizes Isaad Younis
Cairo, February 4, 2018 – The Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism in the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at The American University in Cairo (AUC) hosted its annual awards dinner to celebrate the 26th graduating class of the master’s in television and digital journalism program. Director of the center, Hussein Amin, delivered the keynote address welcoming attendees, the graduating class, and their families and friends. Tarek Shawki, Egyptian minister of education also delivered a speech o the importance of media in society.

Audio Storytelling Through Podcasts Workshop
The Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism in the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the American University in Cairo together with the US Embassy in Egypt held their fourth joint event under the Virtual Speaker Program (VSP). The VSP brings experts in digital media, journalism, and other fields to speak and interact directly with students and professionals in a videoconference setting.
