Accreditation
The School of Global Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) has carved a name for itself in Egypt and the region. Forming alliances with international universities, its programs gained unprecedented international accreditation and ranking globally and in the region. Expanding the horizons for students and professionals alike, GAPP has broken much ground in its first decade.
The Public Policy and Administration Department Masters (MPA) and (MPP) are the first two programs to be “Triple Crown” accredited globally in the field of Public Affairs Education. EAPAA, ICAPA and NASPAA accreditations uniquely combine a fusion of International and European standards of public service education. This singular recognition of both AUC’s MPA and MPP by all three agencies is a testimony to the stellar quality of education at the American University in Cairo (AUC), as well as the pioneering achievement of these two programs in the MENA region at par with the comparable programs in US, European and other international universities.
Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs and Administration (NASPAA)
The Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs and Administration, is the recognized global accreditor of master’s degree programs in the fields Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration having accredited 190 programs from its member schools. NASPAA’s twofold mission is to promote excellence in education and training for public service and to promote the ideal public service. Its accreditation of both the MPA and MPP meant that the Department of Public Policy and Administration was the first outside of North America to have two such programs recognized.
European Association for Public Administration Accreditation (EAPAA)
The European Association for Public Administration Accreditation (EAPAA) is the only quality assurance authority in Public Administration which is active throughout Europe. It has so far accredited over 50 programs across the European continent, including most leading institutes in the field. AUC ‘s MPA and MPP programs were the first two programs outside the Council of Europe to receive accreditation from EAPAA.
International Commission on Accreditation of Public Administration (ICAPA)
The International Commission on Accreditation of Public Administration accreditation is developed by a joint United Nations/International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA) task force which was initiated by the United Nations in 2005.
