Capacity Building of Civil Society: Operational Expenses and Financial Sustainability for CSOs
AUC GAPP Executive Education organized the second round of its civil society capacity-building program, which included 27 participants from community-based organizations across Egypt, in collaboration with the CARE Egypt Foundation and Alnawa Business and Consulting Services Inc.
The workshop opened with remarks from Mohamed Fahmy Menza, senior director of GAPP Executive Education, who stressed the importance of building skills and knowledge in the realm of financial sustainability within civil society organizations to support sustainable development and reaffirmed GAPP Executive Education’s commitment to impactful capacity-building efforts in the civil society sector.
The program focused on helping CSOs manage operational expenses and improve financial sustainability. It included the development of a practical training kit for budgeting, resource allocation and planning, as well as a five-day workshop that provided practical skills in operational cost management, financial decision-making and sustainability planning. AUC GAPP Executive Education continues to support civil society organizations with the knowledge and tools needed for effective and sustainable operations.
