Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism Graduates Three Cohorts of the Digital Media Diploma

The Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism in AUC's School of Global Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) celebrated the graduation of three cohorts of the Digital Media Diploma (DMD) on Tuesday, June 28.

This year's celebration is witnessing the graduation of 90 students of the Digital Media Diploma in three cohorts from Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Yemen, Palestine, Jordan, Libya and Tunisia. The in-person celebration for the graduates of this program is the first of its kind after all in-person ceremonies were postponed amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Hussein Amin, director of the center, and keynote speaker Hossam Saleh, chief operations officer at the United Media Services Company, DMD trainers and media professionals, as well as the graduates and their families.

Saleh stated during his speech that digital media is dominating the media field in all organizations in terms of news and information distribution. He also highlighted the importance of equipping media practitioners with technology and new digital media tools.

During his opening speech, Amin affirmed that during the design of the diploma program, the aim was to present a unique educational curriculum online and in Arabic to meet specified international standards and help students to gain the necessary skills for digital journalism. In addition, Amin congratulated the graduating students from the three cohorts and presented them with their certificates.

During the graduation ceremony, the Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism honored all of the DMD instructors, teaching assistants, and AUC's Center for Learning and Teaching team as a recognition of their contribution and constant support to the Digital Media Diploma.
