GAPP Hosts Expert Lecture on Climate Change Global Health Impact

January 15, 2025

GAPP Executive Education convened a significant public lecture on January 14, 2025, examining the intricate relationships between climate change, human health, and environmental sustainability.

The event, held at the Oriental Hall in AUC's Tahrir Square campus, featured Robert Richmond, research professor and director of the Kewalo Marine Laboratory at the University of Hawaii. Richmond presented a comprehensive analysis of how climate change impacts global health and environmental systems.

Under the moderation of Mohamed Fahmy Menza, senior director at GAPP Executive Education, the session explored the critical connections between climate change and its cascading effects on ecosystems, food security, and cultural practices. Drawing from his field experience, Richmond shared insights from his work with Egyptian stakeholders, offering valuable perspectives on how these challenges specifically affect the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The event represents part of GAPP's ongoing efforts to bridge international expertise with local understanding, contributing to the broader dialogue on climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies in the MENA region.
