In Commemoration: GAPP Executive Education Dedicates it’s Josour ESCWA Workshop to the Memory of Professor Laila El-Baradei
In collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia - ESCWA, the GAPP Executive Education successfully delivered the ESCWA-Josour Program—Essential Skills for Employability Training from April 26 – 30, 2025.
The five-day bootcamp commenced with a moment of silence over the tragic loss of GAPP Executive’s colleague, friend and long-standing partner, Professor Laila El-Baradei, whose genuine, impactful and profound role in supporting and further developing the capacity-building profile of GAPP Executive Education and the University at large has been in place since the inception of the school and the program and whose departure will continue to be sorely felt by all of those who had the pleasure and privilege of knowing her for as long as one can envision.
The opening remarks were given by Mohamed Fahmy Menza, senior director of GAPP Executive Education; Mona Fattah, regional advisor and social affairs officer, ESCWA, and ESCWA’s social protection team; Salim Araji, project lead of ESCWA’s Future of Work Initiative; and Carla Moussa, research assistant – Gender Mainstreaming and Disability Inclusion.
Over the five days, 27 senior students from the College of Applied Health Sciences Technology at Borg El-Arab University, the Faculty of Commerce at Assiut University, Pharos University and the Giza Institute of Engineering and Technology participated in interactive workshops and simulations. The training covered key topics such as personal branding, communication and presentation skills, CV writing and interview techniques, gender inclusivity and an introduction to data visualization.
On Monday, April 28, 2025, GAPP Executive Education also hosted the “Meet the Josour Team at AUC” conference, an open event designed for the broader university community. Attendees, including students and alumni, engaged directly with ESCWA representatives, program facilitators and alumni to explore best practices in enhancing employability skills and expand their professional networks.
We extend our appreciation to ESCWA for their strategic partnership and to all contributors for their dedication to the success of this transformative program.
