April 1 -2, 2019, in association with Euro-Med Program at Cairo University and supported by The Euro-Med Conference 2019 is one of the new deliverables under the Middle East Studies Center’s existing Euro-Med studies project at AUC. It is expected that the conference will serve as part of the foundation to extending Euro-Med studies in Egypt and complement existing teaching in this area.

This conference was designed to bridge the work of two Egyptian institutions in particular, AUC and the Euro-Med program at Cairo University, and support new forms of outreach to the European community of scholars through strategic relations with organizations such as IEMed and EuroMeSCo. The conference benefited from expert input from the European side and from academics already in Egypt who enhanced the quality of Euro-Med studies and MA level dissertations on related topics in Egypt.

The conference agenda can be downloaded here.

Feedback

"The conference was well organized and gave me a good opportunity to receive sound academic feedback regarding my thesis, it also gave me the chance to know people from different backgrounds and helped in building up my own presentation skills. During the research phase the researcher usually receives feedback from one or two professors, but the conference gave us the opportunity to communicate with Key figures in the field, which allowed to complete the picture of the research in hand."

Alyaa Wagdy, Euro-Med Programme at Cairo University

"I would like to thank you very much for the remarkable organisation and for your professionalism and cooperation. It was very interesting and inspiring to participate in the conference."

Dr. Eva Saenz-Diez, Study and Research Group on the Contemporary Arab World, Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL).

"I would like to congratulate you on the success of the Euro-Med conference and thank you for being very helpful and cooperative"

Mayada Medhat, Master student, Euro-Med Program, Cairo University
