AUCTV Celebrates 30 Year Anniversary
December 4, 2019-The Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism celebrated AUCTV’s 30 year anniversary. The well attended ceremony started off by welcome remarks from Dr. Hussein Amin, Director of the Adham Center, and AUCTV co-founder. Dr. Amin, then, introduced Prof. Emeritus Abdallah Schleifer, former director, and AUCTV founder, to the podium to deliver a short speech about the history of the student run television channel. Prof. Abdallah Schleifer was then awarded a token of recognition for his leading role in the channel. Following that, Dr. Amin recognized other key players in AUCTV over the past years and currently, including Affiliate Instructor, Jan Sandle; Assistant Director for Operations and Engineering Services, Rania Aboulwafa; former Technical Coordinator, Nasr El Shennawi; AUCTV Studio Manager, Ziad Farid; AUCTV consultant and capstone TA, Hagar Ads; Senior Specialist for Video Production, Mohamed Kamal; Assistant Lab Supervisor, Saeed Youssef and Office Aide, Alaa Mohamed. Dr. Amin also thanked Noura Bahgat, Curator of the Photographic Gallery for her great help in putting the gallery together. The attendees, then, watched a special film produced by the AUCTV team in celebration of the channel’s anniversary. Finally, Dr. Amin inaugurated the AUCTV Exhibit “30 Years of Student Television Reporting.” Guests enjoyed the festivities with a band that played clarinet and guitar.
