AUC GAPP Executive Education Participates in the Arab SMEs Summit-Rowad Conference 2024
To support innovation and entrepreneurship, and enable small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Arab region to achieve success and sustainable growth, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia - ESCWA and the Qatar Development Bank (QDB) kicked off their joint event merging the third Arab SMEs Summit and the 10th edition of the Rowad Entrepreneurship Conference.
The event hosted in Doha from November 20-22, was held under the patronage of Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani. Themed “Navigating Digital Horizons,” the conference served as a comprehensive platform to support emerging projects and advance sustainable development across the Arab region. Through diverse activities focusing on digital advancements, it brought together over 5000 influential participants, including SME owners, government institutions, investors, regional experts, leaders, policymakers, and representatives from governmental and non-governmental entities.
As the focal partners of the ESCWA Josour initiative in AUC, GAPP Executive Education were invited by ESCWA to partake in the event which incorporated a host of activities, including exhibition booths for rising startups in the MENA region, panel discussions among experts and scholars, bilateral and multilateral B2B meetings, workshops, coaching sessions, and site visits. In the milieu of his participation in the event, GAPP Executive Education Senior Director, Mohamed Fahmy Menza, took part in a number of panel discussions and meetings and provided several coaching sessions to young entrepreneurs starting up projects in the fields of learning and educational development.
