Adham Center and JRMC Host 52nd African Journalists Workshop
The Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism and the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at AUC organized the 52 African Journalist Workshop on Monday, November 19, 2018. The 21 journalists came from a number of African countries including Ethiopia, Sudan, Senegal, Morocco, Kenya, Zambia, South Africa, Niger, Malawi, Liberia, Djibouti, Namibia, Botswana, among others. This workshop included sessions on print media research, effective storytelling and feature reporting, and media management. Sessions were delivered by Dr. Hussein Amin, Professor and Director of the Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism, Professor Firas Al Atraqchi, Chair of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, and Dr. Rasha Allam, Assistant Professor and Associate Chair of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication.
The journalists were also escorted on a tour of the Adham Center studios and facilities. The program that started in 1992 comes within the framework of cooperation between the Union of African Journalists (UAJ), The Higher Media Council, and the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) to train new African cadres in the field of journalism in all the countries of Africa.
