AUCTV and Adham Center Graduates Win Awards at BEA Festival of Media Arts 2026
For the second consecutive year, AUCTV is proud to be recognized at the BEA 2026 Festival – Dr. Marjorie Yambor Television Signature Station Competition, receiving Honorable Mention among leading universities worldwide.
This international competition celebrates the work of college radio and television stations and their commitment to strong programming, audience engagement, community involvement, leadership and overall station excellence.
Three graduates have won at the 2026 Broadcast Education Association Festival of Media Arts international faculty and student competition:
In the Graduate Student Documentary Category:
- Nour Wael won third place for her film "The Nubian Code"
- Bianca Carrera Espriu won Award of Excellence for her film "The Artist of the People"
In the Graduate Sports Category:
- Yasmin Nabil won second place for her film "Egypt Breathes Football"
These films were produced during the students’ capstone course under the supervision of Professor Hussein Amin, director of the Kamal Adham Center and capstone advisor. Professor Hagar Adss oversaw the student work and submitted their films to the BEA. The course teaching assistant was Hala Majed.
The 2026 winners were selected from a pool of 2,250 entries, representing over 300 colleges and universities.
The 2026 student competitions had an overall acceptance rate of 20 percent.
All of the faculty and student festival winners were celebrated in person at BEA2026 held from April 17 to 20, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. BEA’s annual convention traditionally produces over 250 sessions on media pedagogy, collaborative networking events, hands-on technology workshops, research and creative scholarship, and the Festival of Media Arts. It is co-located with NAB Show each April in Las Vegas.
