Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism Celebrates Graduation of Class of 2023/2024

Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism in the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP), the American University in Cairo, hosted its highly-awaited Annual Awards Dinner event in the historical Oriental Hall, AUC Tahrir Square. The 33rd ceremony celebrated the graduation of the class of 2023/2024 master of arts in television and digital journalism with the students’ families and friends.

This year, the Lifetime Achievement Award recipient was Mosaad Abuleilah, News Anchor and Television Presenter. The Best Performance Award recipient was Television Presenter Jasmine Taha Zaki ’92, ’97. 

Hussein Amin, professor and director of the Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism, delivered opening remarks and introduced the night’s awards. Amin highlighted recent achievements made by the center’s different divisions and short video clips were prepared by AUCTV and screened to showcase the honorees’ extensive media journeys.

Amin was joined by an esteemed member of the Adham Center’s Higher International Advisory Council, Ambassador Ahmed Rachid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary-General, and Head of the Media and Communication Sector in the League of Arab States (LAS) in presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award to Abuleilah, who delivered some thank-you remarks to the attendance as well as words of motivation to the graduating class as they embark on their media careers graduating class. 

Amin was also joined by a  member of the Adham Center’s Higher International Advisory Council, Eng. Hossam Saleh, Chief Business Officer of United Media Services Group and presented Taha with the Best Performance Award. Taha, then delivered remarks highlighting the roles of key figures in her career and rise to success.
