Graduation of the Second Cohort of Takeda Training Program
The School of Global Affairs and Public Policy Executive Education at The American University in Cairo proudly celebrated the graduation of the second cohort of the Takeda Training Program: Health Policies and AI Applications in Healthcare Resources Allocation, held from June 6 to July 11, 2026, as part of its ongoing partnership with Takeda to support the capacity building of this vital sector of Egypt's healthcare system.
The program witnessed the active participation of 26 pharmacists from the General Authority of Health Insurance and incorporated an array of practical learning experiences focused on strengthening their knowledge of health policymaking and the use of artificial intelligence to support effective healthcare resource allocation. Throughout the program, participants explored a range of pertinent themes, including health policy analysis, public-private partnerships, healthcare budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, health data analysis and AI applications in evidence-based decision-making. The sessions combined expert-led discussions with practical exercises and real-life case studies to help participants translate knowledge into practice.
The graduation ceremony was opened with introductory words by Mohamed Fahmy Menza, Senior Director of School of Global Affairs and Public Policy Executive Education Programs, and featured keynote interventions from Omnia Aly Ahmed, Head of the Central Administration of Medical Supply and Pharmacies at the General Authority of Health Insurance, and Randa Adel, Takeda Egypt head for commercial and market access. The speakers congratulated the graduates on successfully completing the program and highlighted the importance of investing in the continuous development of healthcare professionals to support innovation and evidence-informed policymaking.
The program reflected GAPP Executive Education's continued commitment to delivering high-quality training programs that addressed emerging healthcare priorities and supported data-driven, informed decision-making in the healthcare sector, in partnership with key stakeholders across the Egyptian government.
