The CMRS Special Collection Library

The AUC library system contains numerous materials that relate to migration and refugees, including books, electronic books and journals located throughout different libraries in the system. Of particular interest to researchers, however, is the CMRS grey files collection, which consists of books, periodicals and grey files literature. The grey files is a collection of primary documents such as unpublished and relatively rare reports, handbooks, conference materials, as well as rare journal articles, published reports and other selected materials not otherwise found in the AUC library system.

The CMRS collections aim to support the curricular and research needs of CMRS students and faculty members, other programs at The American University in Cairo, as well as all affiliated CMRS researchers. The CMRS collections of books, periodicals and grey file materials are now located in the periodicals room at the ground floor of the AUC Library at the New Cairo campus. It is easily searchable through the library home page using the "Advanced Search" icon under the location "MRC" (Migration and Refugee Collections). However, the CMRS collection is NOT for circulation. You may photocopy the material you need with the assistance of a library staff member at the serials help desk.

For further information on the CMRS library, refer to the CMRS libguide. The libguide introduces the materials and features of the CMRS library and offers web links, a list of relevant journals available at AUC and other research pointers.
