- Laila El Baradei received an Achievement Award at the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) at the 10 Years Celebration for the establishment of the School - in March 2019.
- Shahjahan Bhuiyan, associate Dean participated as a Panel Chair at the Innovation in Public Affairs Teaching and Learning in the MENA Region in the Next 50 Years: Chasing the Mirage? NASPAA Conference, Los Angeles, CA, October 18, 2019.
- Laila El Baradei received The 2019 Inaugural Distinguished Achievements and Leadership and Public Administration Scholarship or Practice in the Middle East Award by the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA)’s Section on Effective and Sound Administration in the Middle East (SESAME). The award was received in Washington D.C. during the Annual ASPA Conference on March 10, 2019.
- Hamid Ali has been elected as the President of the Association for Middle Eastern Public Policy and Administration (AMEPPA) Dr. Ali will replace Dr. Alex Dawoody, Founding President of AMEPPA, who is stepping down after leading the organization for the last three terms. Apart from. Ali, Ghada Barsoum, and two PPAD alums, Latif El-Sherif and Omkolthoum El-Sayed have also been elected as members of the Executive Board.
- Ibrahim Awad, professor of practice in the Department of Public Policy and Administration and director of the Center for Migration and Refugee Studies, was awarded the Officer Cross of the Order of Isabella the Catholic, which honors Spanish and foreign personalities who have worked to strengthen Spain's relations with the international community.
- Professor Nesreen Nassar was awarded a research grant for her research on Evaluating the current global pandemic Projection and epidemiological models for Covid-19 incidence. The objective of this research is to evaluate existing models used for forecasting the morbidity and mortality of COVID-19 in order to achieve better evidence-based policymaking.
- Ambassador Aly Erfan, professor of practice in the Department of Public Policy and Administration, is serving as senior Middle East adviser to the European Institute of Peace.
- Professor Karim Haggag participated in the launch of the UN Institute for Disarmament's new document depository on the Weapons of Mass Destruction Free Zone in the Middle East (WMDFZME).
- Professor, Ibrahim Awad, director of the Center for Migration and Refugee Studies, writes about the 75th anniversary of the United Nations in this op-ed for Al Shorouk. ic Research Forum. ERF Policy Brief No. 5. (September)
