American Studies minor offers a wide variety of courses on American studies to meet our students’ needs, including courses on the cultural, political, and intellectual dimensions of American society. Students investigate the history of the United States, synthesize various areas of knowledge, and develop learning and research strategies needed for analysis of persistent historical questions and contemporary national and international events. In addition to American history and literature, students learn about the role of the United States in shaping the world’s financial and trading systems, American government and politics, American foreign policy, and the history of American thought.
